Cambridge University Press - events celebrate 425 years...
A lecture by William Hague On William Pitt - a lecture by the
youngest leader of the Conservative party on the youngest ever Prime Minister
As well as celebrating Cambridge University Press's anniversary, this event also marked the 250th
anniversary of the birth of Cambridge Alumnus, William Pitt the Younger, on 28 May 1759. Aged just 24,
Pitt became Britain's youngest ever Prime Minister and steered the country through several crises of
the age, including the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.
As one of the events to mark these milestones, William Hague, MP for Richmond and published biographer of William Pitt,
delivered this special lecture to Cambridge dignitaries and VIPs.
WvN Marketing managed the event, including:
- Compiling the guest list and managing the invites
- Managing all the logistics for the event, including the formal dinner at Pembroke College
- Organising and managing the audio visual company who were brought in to film the event
- Putting together the running order, seating plans and liaising with the many different suppliers involved in the event
